My wife has dropped something down the dash vent on the passanger side of the truck; how would I retreive anything dropped down the vent short of taking the whole system apart?

The only way is to remove the duct work.

If I should start to take the system apart is there a particular area that I should look first, is there a central area that the object might collect in the system? If so is there a schematic of the system that I could use to maybe pin point a general area where it might have gone?

In general, I would say it made it to the lower duct work.

I can't copy and paste any pictures from ford. However, check out this site for info on how the dash / vents are attached.
