Computer problem
2003 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I replaced the fuel sending unit (float) and I noticed a light on my dash by the temp guage that looks like a gas cap. I checked the gas cap to make sure it was still on right and it is. I did not unhook any wires from the tank.

Check Fuel Cap
The PCM monitors pressure in the fuel evaporative system. When the PCM detects a massive or critical loss of pressure in the fuel evaporative system due to a loose fuel cap or damaged fuel evaporative system, the PCM will set a DTC and provide a ground to the instrument cluster to illuminate the check fuel cap indicator. Once the fuel cap has been resecured, or the source of the leak has been corrected, the ignition must be cycled to reset the PCM and extinguish the check fuel cap indicator.
