2003 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 74.000 miles

I have factory running boards on truck. Can these be lowered in order not to have to reach so far from the ground and if so how?

I know of no way to lower running boards. If there is it will take custom work and welding and such to do it. Hope this helps
