Electrical problem
V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 80000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I recently purchased this truck, the first 20 minutes the door locks worked fine. I did not recieve a key fob w/ purchase. I have to manualy lock and unlock all doors. I dont beieve that all actuators went out at the same time..... I hope. Is it possible that the culprit is possibly a relay for the auto lock like when the vehicle is put in gear or starts to move forward. If so, please share all your knowledge and expertise on repair or replacement.

The locks do not respond when you press the lock or unlock switch on the door panels. Also I programmed a key fob yesterday, which does not work the locks either but will turn on interior lights and sound the horn. But in both cases there is a clicking sound coming from under the dash drivers side when I press the switch or use the the fob.

the problem sounds like it may be either a broken wire in the drivers door jam or the master switch assembly. I could also be the relay itself. The clicking you hear is the module activating the door lock relay, which means the signal is good from the switch to the module and from the module to the relay. Locate the door lock relay and test the relay. If the relay is good test power and grounds at the switch on the drivers door.

I have the exact truck and the exact problem. I tested all locks and switches. turned out to be the Vehicle security module. its a white box up behind the fuse panel nearest fire wall. installed new one everthing works great. took the computer board out of the old one and it had a break int he copper wire in the board and it had lifted off the green pc board.
