2001 Ford F150 unable to keep truck running

i started my truck this morning and it started with no problem, however as soon as i put it into drive it stalls. i have never had this problem and i am stumped! it will start and idle fine, able to run in park/neutral. but will not run in gear, please help. jeff

Has the check engine light come on? Does the engine sound normal when it is running?
