I have been having a problem with my engine dieing when my truck is at a low idle. It starts when I start the truck, if I do not immediately step on the gas, the truck will die. It starts fine (has no problem turning over) but will not stay running unless I step on the gas. Once I get it running and drive, it runs fine although some times it feels as if I am pullling a heavy trailer. During driving, if I come to a stop light, most times it will drop to a very low idle and oscilate or just plain die. If I keep my foot on the gas to maintain between 500 and 1000 rpm and drive with two feet, not a problem. In this condition when driving with two feet, there are times when I start out again that I hear a noticable pop in the engine. This whole scenario keep up most time until the engine is warmed up and then will get better. I am using a K&N air filter and wonder if the engine is starving for air? I only drive about 5 miles to work and rarely get above 50 mph. What could possibly be the problem?????
