Service engine light on. Sounds like exhaust leak. Engine cuts out. Used to be only at low speeds now getting worse. Replaced egr valve and hose. Any thoughts?

Have they checked the catylatic converter? Fuel pump pressure? Also, does this have the 5.4L V8? If so, chances are the exhaust manifold bolts are breaking and causing a manifold leak. This is a common problem and not an easy one or cheap one to fix. If you can't get the bolts out, the head has to come off.
