it seems like the truck is idleing too low. It won't stay on unless you work with it for a while buy keeping your foot on the pedal. We have in the past changed the throttle postion sensor and that seem to help but now its not. Any ideas?

HAs the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

no the check engine light has not come on and I have not checked for vacuum leaks. any suggestions how to check for leaks?

Upen the hood and check for disconnected, damaged, or broken hoses. Sometimes with the engine running, you can hear a hissing sound.

Some people spray starting fluid on the hoses when it's running, but I don't like to because it can catch fire if you are not careful. If you choose to do that, be careful and if you hit a leak, the engine RPM's will increase.

we are going to check for leaks. This morning when I started the truck it die again and did not stay idle but I turned the heater on this time when I started it again and it stay on.

Let me know what you find. Chances are the heater had nothing to do with it running.
