what is causing the loud sueaking noise as i drive or hit bumps on the road.

squeaky noise is a very common probelm for the 2000 model fords, the ball joints in my oppinion were subpar and wore out prematurley, be glad yours lasted that long, you have to unload the weight carying ball joint then you can check for play in the wheel, also a qucik way if it has a zerk fititng "grease fitting" you can check the collar around it, called a wear indicator, if it is sunken in and not flush or higher then the surface around it, ball joints are bad!
