Truck shifts hard from 1st to 2nd, when accelerating slowly it is more pronounced, also happens more frequently when truck is warmed up. When I accelerate faster, it won't shift as hard but will seem to "hang" in first gear slightly longer. Just had Ford do an entire tranny flush along with filter change. Another note the hard shift only happens intermitently sometimes hard sometimes almost smooth. The rest of the gears shift smoothly. Can this me a computer problem that can be reset by disconnecting the battery or something internal?

When it is an internal hard part problem, it will usually happen all the time. If there are no warning lights, my first guess is the 1-2 shift solenoid. Have you had it checked by any transmission techs?

I just noticed that the original subject had the truck labeled as 4wd it is a 2wd. There has been no warning lights. the trucks will slam into second one time then ease into second another depends on rpms of motor it seems. I am assuming a transmission tech can check this solenoid for malfunction externally. Is there anything else I should look for when i take the truck in for the transmission check? thanks for the help so far.

They should be able to check it using a scanner.
