How do I go about finding what appears to be an electrical affecting my odometer? The odometer back light will go out and stay out for several minutes than come back on. My mechanic took my after market alarm off my truck because he said there was a electrical short involving it that was causing my starter to go bad. Now I am beginning to have problems with my starter again. I believe it is related to the electrical problem I am having with the odometer.

That is a common problem with these vehicles. It isn't a connection but rather the cluster itself. I have not heard or any way to repair it other than to replace the cluster itself.
