I have a coolant leak that seems to be originating from the top rear part of the engine. Could this be a head gasket leak or is it something more intense?

Have you noticed white exhaust with the smell of antifreeze? If so you have a bad head gasket. You may also have a cracked or warped head due to overheating.

I have seen the thermostat housing leak and the intake manifold as well. You need to use a flashlight while the cooling system is under pressure. These guides can help you find the leak.
