When I go out to start my 99 F-150 it will click like when the battery is dead, after a few times of doing this it will start. It doesn't do this after it has warmed up and run for a while, and it doesn't do it all the time.

I would check the starter solenoid and the starter for proper functionality. Its almost best to take them in and have them tested, quick and easy.

If they are both good then check the connections for breaks, frays, and corrosion.
