1998 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I am doin a transmission flush on my f-150, but i keep getting the run around on what type of fluid the manual transmission takes i've heard mercon atf fluid? I,ve also heard gear oil. Would you please help me out and tell me the typ and qty i'm gonna need thank you.

if its a E4OD it will take 16 quarts of mercron III or better. If its manual they take different fluids
