Engine Performance problem
1998 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 120K miles

It started with a P0401 error. I changed the FPDE? Sensor, then the EGR valve. Not satisfied I removed the throtle body and cleaned the ports. (They were clogged). Then when I started getting this latest error P0443 I decided to change the purge valve. The error is "Still coming up". Something about a "circuit fault" at the end of the P0443 Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit
P0444 Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit fault. Did I get sucked into buying all these parts for something very simple?

The 401 was, im sure was caused by the dpfe sensor. Now your getting 443 and 444 setting? And the 401 is gone? Check for 12 volts at purge valve connector with key on, one wire should be positive. Get back to me

Yes I have checked the purge valve power connector and it is indeed 12v. I have also checked every other power connector on the throttle body and the other sensors. They read the right voltages according to my Ford repair manual.
If it helps, I have also done a K&H cold air intake conversion on the vehicle. My engine is the 4.6 liter V8.

That code pretty much says there is a open wire to sensor or a bad sensor. Check resistance of solenoid. It should be 30 to 38 ohms. If ok then you need to trace the ground wire trigger wire from the computer for a oopen circuit
