1998 Ford F150 Noise

I accelerted extremely hard the other day. When I arrived at work, I noticed a whining sound coming from the transmission area, as well as a ticking noise in park or nuetral. The whining is not as loud, if even audible in gear, and you don't hear it in o/d. Please help.

Make sure the ATF is full. Let me know what you find.

Yes, the fluid is topped off. That was the first thing I checked.
