1998 Ford F150 ck engine code

i have a 1998 ford pickup with a 4.6 engine the ck eng,,,they told me it was the pressure control solenold where would this be at on the truck engine
ine light is on and it read a code p1747.......thanks ed

The EPC solenoid is in the trans valve body. You need to get a diagram from a local dealer or trans shop to make sure you replace the correct one. If you have a 4R70w trans, then you will have seceral shift solenoids and an EPC solenoid, plus a torque converter solenoid. If you a have a 4R100 (E4OD) all of the solenoids are contained in one pack. But this is definetly an electrical concern. If you want to try to tackle this yourself, let me know and I'll give you further instructions. Otherwise, you may want to consider having it properly diagnosed to eliminate a short in the harness. Let me know.
