1997 Ford F150 Tire stuck

On my 1997 ford f-150 the right rear tire locks up going forward but not in reverse . it will stick as i drive forward then kick in i don't know if its the rear bearings or e-brake. and does this have anything to do with an abs light.

Do you have rear drum or disc brakes? Honestly, it sounds like a sticking park brake. The park brake will work much better going forward and not be as noticeable in reverse.

Have you tried removing the drum? Chances are what you said is correct. If the park brake is stuck on, you will have trouble removing the drum.

I removed the drum with out an issue and reassembled the brakes . there is gear lube leaking on the rear right from the seal but that side is not sticking

The axle seal will need replaced. THe gear lube will cause that brake to grab. As far as the left side, if the drim came right off, were you able to turn the axle? If not, something has come apart in the differential or you have a seezed wheel bearing.

Now that i have reassembled the brake on the left rear side it no longer sticks the brake is a little sponge but the tire turns free. abs still comes on and the brake feels hard like i am on ice .
