wheres it smoke from?

hook up a vaccum guage and idle vehicle at 2,000 rpms.
watch the rpms and the vaccum reading

if the vaccum slowly goes to down constantly or if you have to keep giving it more gas to keep it at 2,000 rpms then chances are teh convertor is stuck up.
