I am replacing my intake gasket on my 97 f-150 4.2 and to remove the intake i removed the clips of the fuel injectors so the fuel rails would pull free with the intake. Problem is that now I can't get the clips back on the injectors. My question is are the clips absolutely neccessary?

If you're talking about the clip -that clips on the injector-It prevents the injector harness from not coming off-but you can get by w/o it-
