1996 Ford F150 Popping Noise

Hello, my son's 1996 Ford F150 has develope a popping noise when the brakes are applied. I have checked the brake calipers and steering assembly. We recently replaced the shocks thinking this was causing the poppinig noise since the bushings were completely worn out.
