Ok, so I just bought a 1995 ford f150 long bed, 87k miles. Runs, drives, looks good. Now for my question, a couple days after I bought it I noticed that it had a puddle under it. So I checked the puddle and it was tranny fluid. Ive noticed the truck shifts a little firm into second gear, but smooth through all the rest. So I got underneath it and it seems to be coming from the back of the pan, and checked the dipstick, and it was overfilled. Any ideas onb whats wrong with her? Is it just a bad pan gasket or something more serious? I'd APPRECIATE any help you could give me.

If its overfilled then either the guy is trying to hide a leak on you or he overfilled it. Overfilling the transmission will cause fluid to come out of the vent. You should start by changing fluid, filter and gasket, clean area and then run truck and look for leaks. That would be my course of action.
