Please pull these fuses, one at a time and with the fuse out and truck running turn the light switch on and then the turn signal on and tell me what happens with each.

Fuse R=40amp, C=30amp, F=10amp, and G-10amp

In the engine compartment fuse box, left side on top of wheel well....... Fuses 3, 6, 7, 10, 19 and in the cab fuse box, fuses 4 and 7.

Sorry so long to get back with you..... Having some computer problems - major ones, so please bear with me as I limp along here.

Okay, so I understand what you said..... First, some of the wiring diagrams are in Alpha characters and some in numeric..... Pretty dump huh....... Makes it more exciting I guess.

When the engine is running and you turn the headlights on the engine dies.

When the engine is running and you turn on the left or right blinker the engine dies.

With engine running....... You pulled the main fuses in the engine compartment numbers 3, 6, 7, and 10.
à   The engine stayed running the whole time.

With engine running....... You pulled the main fuses in the engine compartment numbers 3, 6, 7, and 10.
à   You turn the headlights on the engine dies on each fuse.

With engine running....... You pulled the main fuses in the engine compartment numbers 3, 6, 7, and 10.
à   The turn signals work fine and the engine does not die.

With engine running....... You pulled the main fuse in the engine compartment number 19.
à   The engine continued to run but no headlights

With engine running....... You pulled the main fuse in the engine compartment number 19.
à   The engine continued to run and the drivers turn signal worked just fine

With engine running....... You pulled the main fuse in the engine compartment number 19.
à   The engine died when you selected the passenger side turn signal.

When you are in the cab - you pulled fuse 4 with engine running.
à   Engine dies when you turn the headlights on.

When you are in the cab - you pulled fuse 4 with engine running.
à   Engine runs and both turn signals work just fine.

When you are in the cab - you pulled fuse 7 with engine running.
à   Engine dies when you turn the headlights on.

Got two more for you - fuse 11 in cab - when you pull it
à   Engine does what when you turn the headlights on and what do they do.

Fuse 11 in cab - when you pull it
à   Engine does what when you turn the passengers turn signal on and what does it do.

Now when you were driving it above 40 mph and were turning the lights and turn signals on was it killing the engine?

You obviously have a short in the system..... So I really can not guarantee anything here..... Once you get back with the above I will search through the wiring diagrams but I can not make a promise on this......... But we will try...........

Thanks about the computer problems....... Will be able to do more on it or call the repair guy or throw it in the yard once we get some of you folks taken care of..... Thanks for being patient with me.

You probable didn't have time to do all of those checks I last sent since you were doing other troubleshooting....... Yes?

You may have fried the board....... Check pin 60, black/white tracer to see if it is burnt as far as you can see.

Is there some way to look at the board to see if it has a burn spot and has some solder touching each other or connection points?

There is about oh, 1000 things that go through that so to know what to check - wow...

The best I can tell you for now my friend is do the test I sent..... If it shorted the light switch then that wouldn't explain the blinkers and vise-versa....... So it may be the PCM.........

There is a wire that comes off the coil wire that goes to the cluster....... Thus my though you hit the lights or blinker that goes to the cluster thus hits the coil....... Just a thought though.......

Also in the engine compartment fuse box you have a PCM relay... Can you swap it with a like one and see what happens?

Another thing to check is when it kills the engine, with the lights still on, check to see when you turn it over if you have a spark at the plugs....... Then spray some starting fluid in the throttle body and see if it tries to fire off.

My thought pattern here is to see if it is killing the spark to the engine or the fuel.......

Well, still having computer problems - thanks for asking.....I had to redo the entire drive... Just about finished... But figured I would check the posts.

So, let's discuss this and then I will get back to the computer and Lord willing by late tonight I will be up and running just fine.

Great job by the way on the test results on fuse 11.........I needed the other things either rechecked or verified though.....I have attached them again.......I just want to make sure I am saying the same thing you are and you have done the checks below..... Then I will look at that and the wiring diagrams and Lord willing see where it all connects at.....

So please get back with me on the below to make sure I am correct or if you need to do the check, do so and let me know the same as you did with fuse 11.

No don't worry about the fuel check..... It is pretty clear when the head lights come on it kills the ignition.......

Unplug the left headlight, right plugged in - turn light switch on - does engine die

Unplug the right headlight, left plugged in - turn light switch on - does engine die

Unplug both headlights, turn switch on does engine die?

Engine on - light switch on - see if you have 12V to the Red/black wire that comes out of the Multifunction switch...

Engine on - light switch on - see if you have 12V to the Red/Yellow wire that goes INTO the Multifunction switch.....

Please look the ignition control module, located left rear of engine compartment on fender apron over really good....... Check for burnt wires etc.
