I, ve got a 1994 F150 automatic 4x4. The truck runs good but the transmission seems to shift to soon, the engine doesn't get to wined up before it shifts. Also the truck will roll about 1/4 a tire when in park. Would replacing the shift solenoids fix the problem and can I do it myself I've done all the repairs on it.

Hi clif1_98,

Thank you for the donation.

The transmission shifting is controlled by the PCM and replacing the solenoids might not solve the problem.

There is a self-diagnostic system which you can utilise to check for error codes and proceed with rectification.

Engine performance affects the shifting so you need to confirm there is nothing wrong with it.
Check if the throttle is opening fully when accelerator is fully depressed.
