1993 Ford F150 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

my truck will not shift into 4x4 when I shift it in. What could be some reasons for this happening?

first ill have to ask soem questions to answer the question fully.

is it manual or automatic locking hubs?
does the 4x4 light come on?
push button or mechanical shift linkage for 4x4 engage?

does the transfer case drive shaft turn when engaged?
