Electrical problem
1992 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Problem: When I turn the ignition switch to start position all I get is either a single "click" or rapid multiple clicks: "click click click click:

I put a very good battery in and it did the same thing

I put a new starter in and it did the same thing.

I had my wife turn the switch to on so I could listen to the click. It came from the engine compartment and I could feel some kind of switch or relay vibrate the right front fender. What needs to be fixed. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the starter relay mounted on the inner fender (under the hood)?

I have a feeling that is the problem. Remove it and have it checked. Many parts stores will do it for free.

Let me know what you find.
