1989 Ford F150 Vapor storage canister

Is there a way to safley bypass the vapor storage canister. I bought this old ford for cheap for use as essentially a farm use vehicle. It runs a bit rough and when I disconnected the vacuum hose from the VSC, it runs like a champ. contacting Ford, the VSC is $110.00 +/-...a good percentage of total vehicle cost.Thanks.

you cant just bypass it like that! no matter what it just wont run right. Try a junk yard you could get one for 20 bucks more then likely.
