The a/c compressor is making knocking noises. I think it is on its last leg? I don't use the AC anyways, so can you bypass the compressor with a shorter belt, instead of taking the unit out?

Buy the compressor bypass pulley at http://www.rockauto.com this eliminates the pulley, but you do remove it and install the bypass pulley. 27.79 usd
