My truck needs a valve cover gasket repair which I am getting fixed but there is also smoke coming from the tailpipe, this worries me! I need my truck to get to work, is it safe to drive my smoking truck?

The smoke is blue. It was not contant only when I first started the truck. There was a leak of about a teaspoon per day. I took it to a mechanic, and they did not hesitate to tell me that I needed a new motor. Since they told me that it was a major problem I did not drive it, now there is a major leak, they broke a sparkplug wire and there is constant smoke coming from the exhaust. They also told me that the spark plugs were covered in oil, which was majorly false! I am afraid to take it anywhere now :( What do you recomend I do?

Dont be afraid, always go for a second and third opinion when you hear something that doesnt sound right, especially if you catch them in a lie, report their butts, because they make it hard for the rest of us. You may have a little oil leaking down into the combustion chamber causing the smoke, get some valve seal conditioner until you can get it fixed, and dont go to a dealer, I have a problem with them personally, they like to get extra work out of nothing and then overcharge
