I have a standard 1988 Ford F 150 that has a split open and corroded negative battery cable. The truck was having problems starting but when I bypassed the battery cable with a jumper cable it was able to start so I am trying to replace it. The bolt on the engine (attached to the starter?) is stripped. I can't loosen it even with a vice grip. Can I hook the negative cable up to something else on the engine?
