1988 Ford F-150 ignition switch

I replaced the ignition switch but it is still hard to turn and does not turn off the accessories or start the truck. Could the rod inside the steering column that engages the switches be broken or out of alignment?

Hi:
Either the rod, as you said, is damaged or the tumbler itself is bad. I would disconnect the rod and see if the key turns properly and go from there.

Let me know what you find.
