Transmission problem
1987 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

the tranny inn my truck came out of a 95 f150, is there a 5 speed man. Tranny for an 87 that I can use that will bolt up to a 300 6 cyl? Mainly because the 95 tranny will not let me hook up my speedometer

There were 5 speed manual transmission in 87. However, I recommend staying with a direct fit trans so you don't run into other troubles. In 95, the speedo is run by a vehicle speed sensor (VSS). That is why there is no place for you to plug into.

We always recommend staying with a direct fit part because if you dont, there always seems to be other problems.

Let me know if you have other questions.

I am aware about why the speedometer cable wont work and im not worried about using another tranny, I just wanted to know if they made a 5 speed for an 87. Now about how much would one cost if I was looking for a remanufactured one

To the best of my knowledge, they did make one. If you find an remanufacturered one, I would say it would be around 1500.00
