Electrical problem
1986 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 140K miles

I have a 1986 Ford F150 and have found that the battery is losing charge. I have replaced the battery twice and have had the alternator tested and passed. When I replaced the battery it seemed to run and start fine for about a week and a half and now has no charge to start it. It will push start. Could there be a short in the alternator? Is it a bad starter solenoid? Do I have to test all the wires in the vehicle? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I just bought the truck and it has been nothing but headaches. Thank you!

Hi there.

You can do a current draw test, place an amp meter between the battery Pos & the cable, check the current draw with key off and doors closed. If you have a current draw above about.15 Amps, start pulling fuses one at a time to isolate the faulty circuit, remember the radio will have a small draw for the memory, try this test.
