1986 Ford F150 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 86 f150 pick up 6cyl. The truck was running great and just died. I lost all lights headlights, dash, engine/oil interior etc. The truck will turn over if I short across the starter relay but won't start. Any ideas? I replaced the started switch not the key but the electrial one. Cables are good I checked both ends everything is clean and tight.

There should be a fuseable link by the battery or the selinoid it will be in the red wire (smaller than the battery cable wire)

Thanks for the reply. I checked the fuse able links they were OK. Three days of head scratching later I found a broken wire going to the alternator. It was a hot wire that effected the entire electrical system.
