1986 Ford F-150 ECM switch out

I have a 86 ford F150, 302, automatic. We were told that the computer was causing alot of the problems we are having (idles rough, hard to start, etc) We were wondering with the EEC-IV Do I need to get it flashed or can I just pull one out of a truck at the junk yard and install it into my truck. No you can just get one from the junk yard, but you got to make sure it is for a v-8 good luck
