I replaced a temperature sensor after the old quit registering. Since that time the gauge reads in the upper end of normal, but when the heater is turned on or the engine is lugs when slowing the gauge spikes to hot. The thermostat has been replaced, the radiator appears OK, and the water pump has been removed and inspected. My guess is some kind of electrical problem. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
