1975 Ford F-150 Brakes locked up - pedal goes down when star

1975 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently started restoring a '75 F150. It starts, but it won't move because the front brakes are locked up. When the engine starts, you can watch the brake pedal press towards the floor and when you shut it off, you can see it come back up. You can give it gas while started and the back tires spin on the gravel.

What could this be?

Pull the vacuum hose out of the booster and see what happens, replort back, Plug vacuum hose!

I disconnected the hose from the booster and the brake pedal did not move, but the brakes are still stuck.

Just how long has this been sitting? A complete brake R&R is in order if it's been a long time, the rotors and drums have probably rusted to the pads, and shoes, not to mention all the crud that has collected inside the hydraulic. Open the bleeder screws and see if the wheels will spin, if they do, the flex hoses are bad, if they dont, calipers are frozen, but like I said, How long since she last moved? BTW You will need a new booster. And check valve on the vacuum line.

It has been sitting for about 2 years. I figured I would do a complete replacement on the whole brake system, I was just hoping to get it moving so I can see where I stand on the engine and transmission. I'll try what you have suggested and see what I get. Thanks for the help.

If you really want to get it moving, put a load in the bed, and use reverse to break the rust that may be holding it, Gravel isnt the best surface!
