1969 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

i have a 1969 ford with a 300 6 cyd engine, i just install a new head and can not get the engine to run i need some advice, i need to know the proper steps in adjusting these valves. thank

Are they solid lifters ? Is there a nut with a screw in the middle on each rocker? I think you have hydraulic lifters and Ford has no adjustment. We would have to use different length push rods or shim under rocker shaft towers. If they are tight some would take the rocker off a grind off some of the contact area. This may sound nuts but that how it was done. Maybe you can find a mechanic that is 60+ yrs old .
