I have a 1993 Explorer 4 wheel drive 4lt engine and I have lost my key. To replace the switch the directions tell me to turn the key to the run position. My problem is that I don't have the ignition key. Is there a way to remove it without the key?

That's a problem!

Give the local lock smith a call or the dealer and have a key made. Not sure the secret on that one, but they will tell you what you need.

I think it will be less painful than the switch?

You can go to a lock smith with the seriel number and they can cut a key or you can drill tumblers out through the key hole then punch out pin in old cylinder and remove. Easiery to cut new key
