bought this Explorer a year ago with non-power adjust seats. Found a great set of seats out of an '07 Mercury and installed them. Only problem was the plug on the seat harness was slightly different than in my '08 but the wires were the same so I cut and spliced the plug from my 'o8 seat onto the seat harness from the '07. Now the airbag warning light is on all the time. What have I done and how do I fix it?

Have you tried replacing the plug to its original condition?

I cut off the original plug, can't replace it without using a splicing method and someone said the splice may be my problem as this is a very low voltage system. The original plug doesn't have the connectors for the power portion of the seat harness which is why I changed it in the first place.

I recommend splicing it. There are many connectors available that will take care of your concerns.
