Engine Mechanical problem
2007 Ford Explorer V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have purchased replacement plugs for my 4.6 3v engine. I have read the TSB 08-7-6 but don't see instruction for removing the coil on plug and the plug boot cover to access the plugs. It appears the boot has a flat skirt around the bottom which fills the recess I assume to keep dirt out. I appreciate any advice you can give me on this.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

To remove the Coil Over all you need to do is remove the Bolt holding the coil in place, I beleave it is a 10mm bolt, then twist the coil a littl to break the Boot loose and then carefully pull it off. Just be careful some have a long spring inside that sometime will fall out.
