2006 Ford Explorer V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

It takes me forever, to fill up my Explorer with gas. It's like it backs up in the fuel valve before I can even get five dollars worth. Then it takes a long time for it to go back down. What could be causing this?

There is a breather hose that runs along the filler tube. As fuel enters the tank, air escapes from the vent. Check to make sure it isn't damaged or plugged by something.

Let me know what you find.
