I stopped in to the gas station one morning to fill up and the pump kept shutting off. I put a few dollars in and started driving, about 1/2 mile down the road the engine light came on. The vehicle performs fine, but everytime I go to put gas in I can only get a few cents out before the pump shuts off. When I go to take the cap off there is a pressure build up and while putting gas in you can hear a hissing sound and feel air coming back towards the cap opening....

OK first we need to know what the engine light is on for. So if you would call around to your local parts stores and see if one near you will do a free scan if so then go get it scanned and write down the code or codes and then have them clear the codes and get back to me with what the codes are so you have a place to start.
