2006 Ford Explorer

When I acclerate it sounds like there is nothing but loud "air"sound. The car continues to move but, the it sounds like a large truck acclerating.
Any ideas?

It sounds like the fan clutch is engaged and causing the fan to spin full speed. Have that checked.

I OWN A 2006 FORD EXPLORER AND IT MAKES THE SAME NOISE SOMETIMES WHEN I DRIVE IT. NOW IT IS MAKING THAT NOISE AND THE HOT/COLD GAUGE IS GOING TO HOT ALL OF A SUDDEN FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL. DID YOU GET IT CHECKED OUT.
