The explorer has extremely squeeky shox and we were wondering if this is normal for this type of vehicle or if they may need to be replaced. It seems to be getting worse and the car seems to bounce more. Also when you turn the wheel sharp left or right the wheel or something seems to slip and a loung thud sound comes from the front wheel. If you could give us any advice on these issues we would appreciate it.

Hi:
Shocks usually don't squeak. If you bounce the car and it doesn't stop bouncing after three bounces, chances are the shocks are worn. As far as the noise you hear, it almost sounds like the sway bar bushings which could also cause a noise when turning. I would check those.

Check out this site for shock info:

Let me know if this helps.
