This is a one owner car, light driving. Took it in for regular oil change and said it makes a noise when going slowly over a speed bump, kind of a squeek up front It only does it once in a while and only when the wheels are straight. They said I needed new bushings and the cost=$300.00. New bushings at 33,023 miles? They also told me the oil pan plug was "worn out" and charged me $11.00 for a new one. I think this is the "she's only a woman" syndrome and they see a chance to make a buck. Also- the owner just got a walloping fine from the EPA for tearing down a building full of asbestos. Should I get another opinion?

Hi jaerwin,

Thank you for the donation.

Squeaks are usually caused by worn or dry rubberised parts and the possibility of worn sway bar bushes are possible but the $300 quoted is rather steep. Sometimes some tightening or lubrication of the parts would solve the problem.

A second opinion would not hurt.
