The AC blows out of the floor and window vents but does not come out of the front vents. The air blows cold but in the wrong locations so the AC is relatively ineffective. What could be wrong?

You are looking for a vacuum leak. The vents are actuated by vacuum. If there is a leak, this is what happens. Check for leaks under the dash and the under the hood. If you are lucky, start the engine and you may hear a hissing sound from the leak.
