Hi,
::Ford Explorer 2005 XLT - A/C Compressor Problem::

In the morning, I checked for Radiator Water which I found bit low and I made it at level. I drove 100 km and A/C was working well enough. In the evening, when I started my vehicle, I switched on AC and suddenly I felt burning smell. I stopped my vehicle, opened its bonut and got to know that compressor clutch is not moving while the belt is running. I stopped running my AC .... I noticed, the vehicle again lost radiator water in water box a little, but it was not overheated as the pin for the temprature was at normal.

Could you please let me know what could be the reason as in the morning and all my way to another city the AC was good enough.

What is the solution now ??? Im so much worried about it... Please help. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the compressor locked up. When you turn the AC off, did you have the same problem?

As far as the coolant, is there any in the oil or leaking under the vehicle?

------>no leaking, but when i saw side of the radiator, seems a little leakage.

It isn't too uncommon for the compressor to go bad. The bearings inside sometimes lock.

Sorry but a lst question...

Radiator leakage could be the reason? Even if the needle did not show any heat....

Asking so that i think to replace the radiiator itself.

Thanks for help.

If the radiator is leaking, it won't cause the compressor to lock up. The leak, however, will get worse and if you don't keep an eye on the temp and coolant level, you could overheat the engine if it gets too low.
