2005 Ford Explorer 4 wheel drive

i have a 05 ford explorer sport trac when i shift it to 4 wheel high at the speed of 35 begins to sound whiny and i go faster it starts to chug on and off but not all the time.

Have you checked all fluids? Also, have any warning lights come on?
