I have a 2005 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a SOHC V6 flex fuel engine, automatic transmissison, this morning while on my way home from work the "advance trac" light came on along with the "abs" light and "check advance trac" was the message displayed in the message center. I also noticed the 4x4 HIGH light flashed 3 or 4 times then stopped flashing and went off. Any idea what the problem might be?

Chances are it has something to do with a speed sensor (VSS). However, if the light is on, take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free and that will identify where the problem is coming from.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions. Also, be aware that the two systems are tied together.
